I have been in the counseling field, for more than 25 years and am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology. As a Hakomi graduate, SoulCollage® Facilitator, with training and experience in the Expressive Arts, a background as a clinical Hypnotherapist and extensive training in many different disciplines of therapy, I bring a multi-modal approach, integrating what is needed for the specific client. Dance has been a part of my life for more than 25 years; I have performed dance for 10 of those years and recognize the power of creativity and the arts to assist in healing one's soul. I offer a compassionate and creative approach, assisting individuals in exploring and transforming limiting patterns, beliefs, and traumatic experiences which can inhibit their lives.
In my work, as a therapist, I use a psychodynamic and integrative approach, which can include use of the arts in the therapy process and body-centered psychotherapy. The special areas of focus, in my practice are life transitions, cross-cultural issues, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss and relationship concerns. I work with individuals and couples, from ages 19 and beyond, including mid-life and senior age groups. I prefer to see clients in person, in my office and offer phone consultation, as well. I believe in working in a collaborative manner, so that together we can discover the most effective ways to address concerns and interpersonal challenges.
