I began my work in mental health in Columbus, Ohio. I was the Executive Director of a
large community counseling agency for 25 years. During that time, I received a master’s
degree at The Ohio State University and became a Licensed Clinical Professional
Counselor (LPCC). In 2003, I returned to the bay area and became licensed as a
Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

My LPCC education gave me a medical orientation which I retain as an LMFT. I’m
accustomed to focusing on problems of depression, anxiety and stress as well as more
serious mental health issues. I’m also very familiar with community resources clients
may need and can assist in connecting with them. My LMFT orientation includes
working with relationship and family issues, various kinds of life transitions, and
personal development and growth.

I offer clients a totally safe space to talk and sort out their feelings, and through that, I
gain an understanding of each person and what they are experiencing. I don’t use just
one approach to therapy; the combination of my training, work and life experience have
made me eclectic and flexible. My goal is to help clients feel better with a more positive
outlook through gaining new insights, building on their strengths, and trying out new
behaviors. I’m always open to questions and suggestions and value working in
collaboration with each client.

I work with most clients online but can arrange in-person meetings at ICC as needed.
I’m a Blue Shield provider and a Kaiser community contractor.
