

MARY ANNE COOK specializes in grief and trauma support and serving people
going through life transitions, working with both individuals and groups. She
adapts and responds to individual needs drawing on her training in three distinct
fields, counseling, mindfulness, and creative arts. Mary Anne studied at NYU’s
School of Social Work, has a diploma in Spiritual Direction from the San
Francisco Theological Seminary, is trained in Mindfulness Based Stress
Reduction, and has an MFA in Acting from NYU. She has worked as a spiritual
director and grief counselor for over 15 years and is an associate at the Interfaith
Counseling Center. In addition she serves as a grief consultant with Reimagine,
where she is currently developing workshops on Post-Traumatic Growth. Mary
Anne has provided grief support at Glide Memorial Church and Hospice by the
Bay, worked with bereaved children at Josie’s Place, and offered spiritual support
for those struggling with addiction and homelessness for the Ignatian Spirituality
Project, and at The Healing WELL and the Gubbio Project in SF's Tenderloin
District.
